Had a go at Equilibrium during Valentine's Day in Captol Piazza. At first glance, Equilibrium might seem like an upscale atas bar, but if you were to dive into their menu, the offering are pretty much reasonable and affordable.
While Equilibrium serves up Italian dishes, its array of cocktails are also worth a try. At that time, they were having a 1 for 1 promo for their cocktails which was quite a steal (cocktails range from $18 to $22).
We had the Smoky Nectar - a torched marshmallow cocktail, infused with smoke in a bottle for you to pour out yourself. The second cocktail with the rosemary was Entry Load.
Hence, I don't quite get why wasn't Equilibrium packed on that day (It was a walk in last minute decision!). We tried a side and couple of mains and found the dishes really good.
Ordered the Arancini Porcini ($18), risotto rice balls which were handmade and deep fried. Infused with Porcini mushrooms, bacon and cheese, every bite into the balls were a delight to the tastebuds. The balls were served hot, so beware when you hurriedly take your first bite. It might sting.
Our mains consisted of a very classic Italian dish - Carbonara ($19), and the Squid Ink Seafood Risotto ($28). The pasta - a splash of white wine, tossed with egg yolk and ends with shaved Parmesan, was perfectly done. The Risotto too was rather good. A tad wet, but very generous with their fresh seafood.
overallreview: shauneeie4hands. The setting, ambiance, drinks and food were on point on that day. A good place to wind down your evenings. Not too sure about their Happy Hour promos but the cocktails here are unique and taste great. The pasta and risotto we had were on point too.
