Your Ultimate Guide to Beerfest Asia 2016: Eat, Drink and Be Merry

What time is it? It’s beer o’clock! This year, Beerfest Asia returns for its eighth edition and word has it that it’s going to be bigger, better and bolder this time. Running from 16 June through 19 June, 2016, beer enthusiasts can go nuts with sampling a mind-boggling variety of over 500 beers.

There’s no better way to bring on the weekend vibes than a nice cold pint, while rocking out to live music and chomping down on some bar grub. It’s happening at the Marina Promenade, the picturesque spot that overlooks the skyscrapers and nightlife of Singapore. Whether you’re a fan of craft beers, or commercial brews, you’ll find the perfect amalgamation of booze at Beerfest Asia 2016. With the size of the line-up, choosing where to go and what to drink can be tough. Here’s how we can help.

For novice drinkers, go for the beer sampling platters ($8). There will be six 50ml portions to sample before chugging your favourite brew. Even better, it’s value for money to taste various types of beer without breaking the bank! Keep a lookout for some of the highlights including Archipelago Brewery’s new Singapore Blonde Ale and a pint of Desperadoes, a tequila-flavoured beer concocted by Asia Pacific Breweries.

Feeling hungry? No worries. Mr and Mrs Maxwell, Tiger’s Milk and Harry’s! will be there to keep your stomachs satisfied all night long. There’s Harry’s Signature Wings, Fish Crackling, Grilled Sausages and more. If you’re feeling lofty, go for Tiger Milk’s Truffle Mac and Cheese, Foie Gras and Beef Patty.

After a satisfying meal, sing along to a stage line-up of live music and bands that pay tribute to artists like Bon Jovi, David Bowie, ABBA and more. Or, #supportlocal with local band favourites such as Supersonic, Sweatshop Jams and more, as they turn up the heat with their performances or, you can have more beer like us!

Need a good tickle for your stomach? Head for the Comedy Lounge, which returns with a line-up of local and international stand-up comedians.

How do you get in? Tickets are on sale at SISTIC. Limited UOB Exclusive 1-Day passes at $15 are available, while stocks last. Advance 1-Day passes from $25 are available for the public. All tickets include one complimentary welcome beer (with the exception of VIP tickets) can be redeemed from at the festival grounds.
