Winning hearts and tastebuds in 54
outlets across China, Riverside Grilled Fish (江边城外) finally opens their first overseas store right here in Singapore in the basement of CapitaLand Mall Asia's Raffles City.
With over a decade of experience operating in
China, Riverside Grilled Fish, has won the hearts and tastebuds of people across the Mainland with their whole fish dishes. Using classic Chong Qing Recipes, diners are allowed to pair fish from a selection of Red Tilapia ($35), Sea Bass ($35), Black Pomfret ($38), or Garoupa
($42) with a choice from the eight
sauces. We recommend you to come in a group, the more the merrier as the grilled fish here are rather huge.
The best part? Diners also have the
option of eighteen different side
dishes to be cooked with their grilled fish like sausages, pork belly, tofu
sheets, and flat vermicelli, at an added cost of just $2.50 - $4.50. If you have the stomach, we recommend you to add everything!
The Signature Fragrant Spicy Sauce is their spiciest offering and a
definite must-try for chili-lovers!
Sweet, sour, spicy and numbing come
together in Riverside Grilled Fish’s Unique
Sauce that was definitely the crowd favorite, definitely makes for an
interesting experience to take away from coming here.
Riverside also offers a variety of
appetizers and snacks like the Si Chuan Crispy Duck ($12.80), Spinach with Mixed Nuts ($6.80), Si Chuan Flat Noodles ($4.80),
and Pan-fried Shredded Pancake ($4.80). We're a fan of chinese liang pi and those served here brought back memories of Beijing.
Of course, diners are free to bring
their children along as Riverside Grilled Fish also offers a children’s bento
set with egg fried rice, sausages, and a custard bun ($6.80) which is free for children under five!
Overall review: shauneeie4hands. From the
decor, to the way the sauces complement each fish dish, the selection
of sides, snacks, and appetizers, everything shows that plenty of thought has
gone into creating a unique experience that will bring diners the flavors they would only otherwise enjoy in Beijing. Not recommended for the non-spice takers but please do try, an experience you might only get in China but has been brought so close to home.
